Is CodeDay a "hackathon"?

Kind of.
Although it follows the usual format, CodeDay isn't a traditional hackathon, and many people who attend with that expectation are disappointed:
  • CodeDay has few prizes and little swag
  • you won't find meet companies directly recruiting for internships
  • judging is based on difficulty for the team, not objective difficulty
  • no business plans or pitch decks!
  • lots of attendees are newer to coding
