Talk Description: This talk will cover tooling to attack REST APIs and web applications, as well as approaches to protect your APIs. Attendees will get access to a web application hacking platform to practice their skills that will be used to demonstrate vulnerabilities during the talk. We'll also talk about internships in the security field.

Speaker Bio: Adele is a Security Engineer with a full-stack development and informatics background. She performs penetration tests of web applications, cloud-deployed software systems, and mobile applications. She is a proponent of developing tooling to improve security assessment automation and effectiveness. Previously, Adele interned in the Business Intelligence at Starbucks, was a teaching assistant for data science and server-side development classes, and a research assistant in the disaster resilience space.
