Talk Description: Are you on LinkedIn? If you're not, you'll make a LinkedIn account soon. LinkedIn is a social platform where you can build and engage with your professional network. Less than a week after you sign up, you will come across at least one "happy to announce" post. It's a LinkedIn culture that a lot of people officially announce their job acceptance and make a thank you speech. Whether you're looking for an internship or full-time job in the future, it will be discouraging to see other people's success if you're not making your own achievements. In this talk, I will share my internship search experience as well as how I navigated through the ocean of "happy to announce" LinkedIn posts.

Speaker Bio: Nayeon (She/they) is a sophomore studying Computer Science and New Media Art. She took her Introduction to Computer Science that was about web programming in her first year, which made her think CS wasn't a good fit. Then, she transferred and took another CS class in Python, where she started thinking CS is fun. Since Nayeon is struggling so much with something new about programming every day, she knows how important it is to believe in herself and maintain a growth mindset.
